The Collapse and Recovery of International Supply Chains During the Pandemic
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic fundamentally disrupted global trade patterns, with emerging economies experiencing disproportionate impacts on their foreign trade sectors. This comparative study examines the recovery strategies implemented by major emerging economies including India, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa, and Vietnam between 2020-2024. Through analysis of trade data, policy interventions, and economic indicators, this research identifies key strategic approaches that have proven most effective in restoring and enhancing trade competitiveness. The findings reveal that digitalization initiatives, supply chain diversification, and strategic bilateral partnerships emerged as critical success factors for sustainable recovery.
